Michael Chang : Four poems

MYSTERIOUS LSD

mold him into a blob for justice

pedro aint known u from adam

(adam4adam)

NON-INDUSTRY PIPSQUEAK

yes, quickly

ancient greece

for its depiction of homosexuality

[holding wife’s hand]: at least the ocean view is nice

smug homo

space grey freak

danny

u a sweet talker in any language

MIAMI!

pity the mice that

bubble w/ fright

pity the pharmacist

w/ deep pockets

& malfunctioning pacemaker

she is at ur mercy

he doesn’t know

which way is up

RAPTURE

today i find
i have no power over clouds & their jagged edges
can’t appreciate god’s love or this triple-strength solution
no one go looking for her seed
brew or stool
produced by dark-banged boy
virgin omelette, a kind of atmosphere
wholesome, unsuspecting
how many times have u been dissatisfied ?
here i am, tinkering w/ this poem
like a sequined dress
i want the light to hit a certain way
rarely has anyone achieved such heights
the evidence overwhelming
based on this record
i would grant a motion for summary judgment
tickle those numbers, 2, 2:30
pikachu cheer
i’m tightly scheduled
heartstrings, bits of tinsel
my fashion label CK:
calvin kim
my yangban morals
out-frenched at a french bistro
i heard music, discovered modesty
it was in the right place
it must’ve been the wrong time
i did all that was asked of me

TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

looking sly

deborah in the white dress

feeds her chicks into the woodchipper

there will be no laughing at the cotillion

but plenty of ozempic

‘ how hard she made it ??? ’

take her back to her podunk town

where rowdy fans swarm the quarterback

u ought to know we moved the goalposts

minions a part of the hollywood machine

i hear it’s one baggie per customer

even doppelgängers
